Hans Kluge’s Family: Discover His Daughters Sofia and Anastasia Kluge

Seeking information about Hans Kluge’s personal life, including his wife’s name, may lead to a dead-end, as the WHO Regional Director for Europe prefers to maintain a private profile. However, what is known is that he is a devoted family man and a proud father to two daughters, Sofia and Anastasia Kluge.

Dr. Hans Kluge’s illustrious career in public health and medicine spans over 25 years, covering three continents. Born on November 29, 1968, in Roeselare, Belgium, he earned a master’s degree in medicine, surgery, and obstetrics from the Catholic University of Leuven. His journey as a family doctor commenced in Belgium in 1994.

Throughout his career, Dr. Kluge’s dedication to public health led him to work with MSF Belgium in emergencies, providing medical and public health services in conflict zones in Liberia and Somalia. He also led a TB control program and served as the Regional TB Advisor in Moscow, Russian Federation, for countries formerly part of the Soviet Union.

In 1999, he joined the World Health Organization (WHO) and managed TB and TB-HIV programs in the Russian Federation. In 2009, he moved to the WHO Regional Office for Europe, where he played significant roles in combating multi- and extensively drug-resistant tuberculosis and shaping the perception of health systems for prosperity and solidarity in the WHO European Region.

While Hans Kluge’s professional achievements are widely recognized, he remains tight-lipped about his personal life. Nonetheless, it is evident that his focus on work does not overshadow his role as a loving father to Sofia and Anastasia Kluge.

Dr. Kluge’s daughters, Sofia and Anastasia, have grown beautifully under his care. While detailed information about his family remains private, their presence in his life serves as a reminder of the importance of balance between career and family.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dr. Kluge is known for his linguistic skills, fluently speaking English, French, German, Russian, and Dutch. His diverse interests include gardening, running, and cycling.

Despite his preference for privacy, Hans Kluge’s contributions to public health and his dedication to his family leave an indelible mark on those whose lives he has touched.
