The community mourns the loss of 19-year-old Asher Chavers of Hammond, Louisiana, who passed away on November 29, 2023 at North Oaks Medical Center. Asher touched many lives in his short time and will be forever remembered for his humor, compassion, and loving spirit.

Early Life and Family

Asher was born on March 31, 2004 in Hammond to parents Chris and Diedra C. Chavers. He had one sister, Sophia G. Chavers. He came from a large extended family with many aunts, uncles, grandparents, and cousins who loved him dearly.

Education and Work

A sophomore at Southeastern Louisiana University, Asher studied diligently while holding a job as a proud dishwasher at Cate Street Seafood Station. His colleagues at Cate Street adored him and praised his reliable work ethic, willingness to help others, and ability to brighten any situation with his humor.

Personality and Interests

Asher’s witty sense of humor was legendary among family and friends. He showered those around him with love and compassion. Animals were another passion, especially birds. He had a deep appreciation for living things and the beauty of nature.

Mourning and Remembrance

Asher’s parents and sister are devastated, along with his extended family members and wide network of friends. His family will receive visitors at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home to mourn and share cherished memories before his funeral service and interment at Rosaryville Cemetery.

The community will deeply feel Asher’s absence. He touched hearts with his spirit and brought smiles with his humor. Though gone too soon, Asher Chavers will remain in memory as a beloved friend and family member.
